With Olly Murs recently having a 3 day wedding, following Brooklyn Beckhams extended wedding, many couples are now opting for a longer celebration. This year we have attended 2 (yes 2!) three day wedding with our wedding mini golf and next year it looks to be more. So what can you do for your 3 day wedding celebration?
We’ve put together a list of activities taken from our experience of over 300 weddings and events.
One of our couples opted for a wedding welcome party on the friday night, Olly Murs did a wedding bbq, Brooklyn Beckham had an intimate dinner. A wedding welcome party is a great way for guests to mingle and get to know each other. If you are worried about hungover people the next day, have an alcohol free dinner.
You could opt for a themed wedding or… have a different theme each day. A recent wedding we went to, had a Hawaiian theme night. Or incorporate different cultures into the wedding.
Set up a late night bonfire, grab your drinks and some blankets and go toast some marshmallows. Just think how wonderful that will look on wedding photos.
Having a three day wedding allows you do activities with your guests that you may not normally do. A wedding that we went to (as a guest), the groom went kayaking on the morning of the wedding and the night before, we all did a high ropes course. On the day of mine and Sam’s wedding. we went swimming in front of the mountains. You and your guests could enjoy hiking, biking, or water sports, whatever it is, a 3 day wedding will guarantee you get the time to do this and spend time with your guests.
If you are having a three day wedding, it gives you the opportunity to get creative, why not get creative with your wedding golf. Our course can be personalised with your colours, your names even obstacles which are guaranteed to make your wedding have that wow factor.
Having a three day wedding means you can have as much entertainment as you want. We have been to three day weddings with our wedding golf and our wedding games. Some other ideas are photobooths, magicians and include live bands or DJs for entertainment during the weekend, not just on the wedding night.
We have been to weddings that have animals, alpacas, horses, dogs. But one of the most memorable for us was a wedding that had pigs, it was something we had never seen before. So for your three day wedding, opt for animal hire or have the wedding in a zoo.
PS, don’t do this if you don’t like animals.
When your wedding guests arrive, supply them with welcome bags with some of the things they may need over the weekend as well as a schedule for the weekends activities. Things to add to the bag include snacks, water, footwear for activities, toiletries, mini first aid kit, a personalised note from you and anything that you think is relevant.

So lot’s of engaged couples go on spa day’s before their wedding, but what about having a spa day at the wedding?! A three day wedding is perfect for this! Either at your hotel if they have a spa or get a spa business in to create this magical experience for you and your wedding guests!
A three day wedding is the perfect opportunity to maximise the time spent with your loved ones. Plan your wedding sunday lunch as a chilled out meal or a black tie dinner. The food will be memorable and the guests will go home feeling like they’ve had the best weekend!
Remember to communicate the schedule and details clearly to your guests so they can plan their weekend. A whole weekend wedding allows you to create lasting memories with your loved ones extended for more than one day!
