Mini golf has been a favorite activity for couples looking for a fun and unique wedding experience. It provides entertainment for guests of all ages and adds a playful touch to your special day. If you’re considering a wedding crazy golf package, you’ll want to ensure it suits your wedding day. A lot of our couples ask us for what is the best wedding crazy golf package for them, so on this page, we’ll guide you through the steps to help you decide which wedding golf package is the right one for you. We have created the above flow chart to use, which is quick and easy, but if you prefer more detail please read below.
This advise is based on our experience of being at over 300 weddings/events, as a member of our team stays with the golf hires, the advice is around what we have personally seen, not anyone else’s experiences.
Do you want to play wedding crazy golf yourselves?
Most of our couples want to play the wedding mini golf themselves, but sometimes we have couples that want the wedding golf simply for their guests whilst they are getting their wedding photos done, to keep them entertained. If you don’t want to play yourselves, then the golf package will be enough to keep your guests entertained whilst you have those all important wedding photos!
If you are wanting to play yourselves, we would advise you either have the platinum package (5 hours with a 2 hour time pause) or you give very clear instructions to your photographer and venue that you want to play. Recently, we had a groom who was desperate to play however, by the time the wedding photographs were finished, he only managed to play 3 holes before being called in for dinner. We did offer to stay longer so he could play the rest of the time, but the wedding timeline wouldn’t allow for it. This has happened more times than we can count, so if you really really want to play, then this would be our advice.
How many wedding guests do you have?
Consider the number of guests you’ll be inviting to your wedding. We always advise if you have over 40 guests then to add 3 games onto the package, this is based on a maximum of 37 being able to play on the course at any one time, instead of people queuing for the golf, they can play on the games until it is their turn.
If you have over 80 guests, we do advise adding more than 3 games, this could be the ultimate package or like some of our couples, having a bespoke package such as adding 6 games.
Also, think about if you have additional evening guests arriving. Our platinum package typically runs from after the wedding ceremony to wedding breakfast and then after wedding breakfast through to first dance, for example:
2 – 4.30 pm
6 – 8.30 pm
Your evening guests will have arrived at this point, so baring these in mind when adding up your numbers.
If you have 40 guests or under the Gold package will give you enough time.
Does your wedding venue have the space?
When thinking about adding games, think about the space required. The golf needs around 5m x 5m if you want it placing in the horseshoe shape, so would need just slightly more space to add games on. Our winter wedding packages do offer a smaller course of 6 holes, this is only available between November and March and is perfect for indoor wedding crazy golf.
Add on's to the wedding crazy golf packages:
As explained above you can add additional items or make your own bespoke package, need 4 hours? Just ask us, we will try to work with you as much as possible.
Other things you can add on are personalised score cards, personalised pencils, personalised props. See some of our extras here.
Does your wedding differ from the standard wedding timeline?
No two weddings are the same and we specialise in working with couples who want a wedding unlike one they have seen before. So when considering which Wedding crazy golf package is right for you, please consider the timeline.
A typical wedding timeline is:
Ceremony between 1-2pm.
Wedding breakfast between 3-4pm
Wedding reception between 7:30-8:30 pm
We have catered our packages around this time, the platinum package was created using feedback from our couples, as it was previously a straight through package. Our couples suggested that we have a play pause whilst they go off and have their wedding breakfast and we thought this was perfect because actually there are only certain times within the day that the golf can be played on due to other activities.
So what if you have a wedding timeline that differs from this? We create a bespoke package just for you! We have been a part of several 3 day weddings (see our post on 3 day wedding ideas here),
